BIM Modeler – Steel

Full Time Permanent Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced BIM Modeler – Steel with a solid background in steel detailing and 3D modeling for structural steel projects across the UK, Europe, and the US. The ideal candidate will have a deep working knowledge of Tekla Structures and/or Advance Steel, and must be familiar with British, European, and American steel detailing standards.

You will be responsible for developing accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings, coordinating with design teams, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality steel detailing packages.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create precise 3D steel models using Tekla Structures and/or Advance Steel based on architectural and structural drawings.

  • Prepare fabrication drawings, erection drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and material take-offs.

  • Follow and apply steel detailing standards from the UK (BS), Europe (Eurocodes), and US (AISC) as required.

  • Interpret structural design information and ensure accurate representation of members, connections, and assemblies.

  • Support clash detection processes and coordinate with other disciplines as needed.

  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and reports aligned with fabrication and construction schedules.

  • Ensure quality control, documentation, and versioning of models and deliverables as per internal protocols.

  • Collaborate with engineers, project leads, and other BIM team members to deliver coordinated outputs.


    Necessary Requirement

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with 6–9 years of relevant hands-on experience in structural steel modeling and detailing.

  • Proficient in Tekla Structures (mandatory); experience with Advance Steel is a strong advantage.

  • Familiar with AutoCAD and BIM coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks).

  • Demonstrated experience in projects across the UK, Europe, and US.

  • Sound understanding of steel codes and standards: BS, Eurocodes, and AISC.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings independently.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a remote, cross-functional team.
